Introduction:

The new water tankering regulations, issued by the Department of Energy (DoE) Abu Dhabi, will be implemented from the 1st of July 2024. Meanwhile, the supply and installation process for the devices required in each water tanker will commence soon, and we will inform you of the date in the coming days.

Their aim is to regulate and categorize water tankers to prevent any potential environmental damage that may be caused by tanker violations and ensure the health and safety of the community by providing the highest quality of water.

The new regulations include:

  • Registration of water tankers with the responsible entities (ADDC and AADC).
  • Providing detailed information of water tankers, owners, drivers and tankers' operating companies.
  • Conducting regular tanker inspection at the water filling stations by the technical staff of the responsible entities (ADDC and AADC).
  • Ensuring compliance with the required standards for the type of water transported (drinking and non-drinking water).
  • Issuance of an accreditation certificate to be presented to the Traffic Department or any other entities as per the prevailing procedure.
  • Submit the best offer for supplying water by tankers.
  • Attend the driver training program and pass the required test.
