Your bill explained

We want to make sure you’re completely clear about what you’re paying and why, so we’ve designed our bills to be as straightforward as possible. This page explains the different information on your bill and how we’ve worked out what you need to pay us.

If you’ve registered for an online account, you can access your most recent bill on the move, using your mobile phone or other device. You just need to log in to your account. If you haven’t done so already, please activate your online account here.

Personal and property details

This shows you whose name the bill is in and which property it is for.

Premises ID:
This is the unique identifier of the property that is being supplied with water under this account.

ADDC VAT Number
This is ADDC’s unique tax registration number from the UAE Federal Tax Authority.

Customer details

In this section you’ll find all the key reference numbers linked to your account. You might need these to set up an online account or pay a bill. It also shows the date your bill was issued and when it needs to be paid by.

Tax Invoice:
This shows the bill is a tax invoice and can be used to claim input tax, if applicable.
Account number:
This number is specific to your ADDC water account at the property shown. Every different account you have with us will have a different account number. You should quote this number if you contact us so that we can easily identify your account.
Bill number:
This is the unique reference number for the bill you have received. If you have an enquiry regarding your bill, you should let us know the bill number and the bill date when you contact our support team.
Account Class & Tariff Type:
Here you’ll see the tariff type applied on the premise in order to calculate the consumption.

Water-Account Activity

Account Activity

This section sets out any payments or charges since your last bill and the amount of water you have used since then.

Balance from your last bill:
This shows the balance of your account carried forward from your previous bill. It may show as a credit or a debit balance.
Payments received since last bill:
Any payments you have made to this account since your previous bill was issued are shown here.
Amount in arrears:
Here you’ll see the credit or debit amount that has been carried over to this bill; it’s simply the previous balance less any payments received.
Actual cost and subsidy:
Just for your information, this shows the subsidy that has been provided by the government and what the actual cost of the water you’ve used would have been without it.
Consumption charges:
This is a breakdown of the units of water you have used since your last bill, split into green and red rates. You can find out more about why we charge different rates for your water HERE.
VAT on Consumption charges:
This shows the Value Added Tax (VAT) that you will pay on your water consumption. The VAT is applicable at a standard rate of 5%.
Other charges:
This is for any additional charges that may apply to your account, such as connection or reconnection fees.
VAT on Other charges:
This shows the Value Added Tax (VAT) that you will pay on your other charges. The VAT is applicable at a standard rate of 5%.
Adjustments/Corrections:
This informs you of any adjustments we have made to your bill, to correct things like previous overestimates, etc.
Total to pay excluding VAT:
Here you’ll see the current balance of your account, which includes any outstanding amount carried over from your previous bill. This amount does not include VAT.
Total VAT:
This is the total VAT you have to pay and includes VAT on water consumption and VAT on other charges.

Here you’ll see the current balance of your account, which includes any outstanding amount carried over from your previous bill. This is the amount that you are due to pay. Water Meter Details

Here you’ll find everything you need to know about your water meter.

Water meter number:

Meter reading:
This shows you the meter reading that we have based your bill on. If we haven’t been able to take an actual reading, this may be an estimated figure, based on your typical previous usage. In this case, you will be notified on your bill that it is an estimated reading.
Total units:
The number you see here shows how many units (in cubic metres) of water you’ve used since your last bill. We multiply this by the unit rate from your tariff to work out your consumption.
Date of meter reading:
This shows the date your meter was read, either automatically or by one of our technicians. If it’s an estimated reading, the date shown will be the date we’re basing it on.
Days of use:
Here you’ll see how many days are included in this billing period. Usually your bills will be issued month-by-month, but occasionally you’ll get a bill for a longer or shorter period.

This shows how your average daily usage of water has changed in this billing period compared to the same time last year. It also shows how much your water costs you each day.
