ADDC organized on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 a health day to mark the World Health Day 2015 which is dedicated this year for highlighting the challenges and opportunities associated with food safety under the slogan “From farm to plate, make food safe”. Medical checkups were offered during the day, in association with Universal Hospital and VCLL, that included diabetics, blood pressure, cardiovascular, cholesterol and BMI for ADDC’s employees. They were also educated on methods of preventing against different common diseases. Dr. Abd Al Muneer spoke about management of stare at work pointing out the causes of stress at work such as lack of basic work and social skills that make an employee unable to cope with the work and social environment. He also said that procrastination policy might make an employee feel frustrated and finally lose his job. Some people also take with the social stress they feel to the work environment that would reflect negatively on their performance. The best method of overcoming stress is by arming ourselves with deep believe in God which is the source of psychological balance and contentment in both life and doomsday. Everyone should be friendly and motivator in work environment. Eng. Abd Allah Abd Allah Alsuwaidi, Executive Director of Operation Directorate, said that; “ADDC cares about the health and safety of its employees because this reflects positively on their performance and increasing their productivity taking in mind that we work in technical field that requires high degree of physical and psychological fitness”. The initiative is a part of “Green Offices” campaign, Your Health before Work week, organized by the company with the ultimate objective of improving the work environment and reducing the environment footprint of its premises.
