ADDC launched "Mobile Maintenance Management Solution" to be used in all its water and electricity networks, Eng. Mohamed bin Jarsh, ADDC Acting Managing Director, said in a meeting organized today with a number of officials from across business units.
The new systems are portable and light as they are in the size of a mobile phone.
Bin Jarsh said; "Enable our staff to collect accurate and reliable data from the different sites that help in making sound and timely decisions regarding maintenance works".
The gadgets download work orders and asset specifications from Maximo through GPRS to HHU enabling staff to view works and work instructions, carryout works and update WOs in HHU again. Finally they can also upload WO data and asset specifications through intranet or GPRS to Maximo Database online. "They eliminate paperwork, provide secure data of high quality," he said. They also enable the company to improve workforce utilization, increase their productivity, i.e. capturing data without added burden.
Introduction of the new system is a part of the company's continuous efforts to realize the directives of Abu Dhabi Government and ADWEA aimed improving utility services in the emirates by using up-to-date IT solutions.
